Liz Ugaz received her early dance training in Peru under Ballet Ressigeur Jorge Rodriguez Vede, renowned and former Director of Ballet Camaguey in Cuba. Ms. Ugaz graduated from The National Ballet School of Lima, Peru with a degree as Classical Ballet Teacher.
After relocating to Florida, Ms. Ugaz attended the Florida International University (FIU) and graduated with an Honors Degree in Dance. At FIU she also studied Dance History, Character Dance, Modern Dance, Contemporary Dance, Music, and French, and gained much attention for her research paper on ‘Physical Training and Its Impact in Dance.’ Her performing experience includes several classical and contemporary pieces such as The Nutcracker, Sherezade, Rites of Spring, Ravel, Bolero, La Bayadere, Don Quixote, Giselle.
Ms. Ugaz also attends annual ballet seminars/conferences imparted by experts in the Cuban classical ballet methodology and participates in seminars like Classical Dance Methodology with Cuban Methodologist Gloria Padron, Choreography Seminar imparted by French Choreographer Roger Meguin, Ballet Methodology and Practice Seminar by Ballet Regisseur Jorge Rodriguez Vede, Classical Dance Repertoire Seminar by Cuban Ballet Masters Lidice del Rio and Jorge Rodriguez Vede, and Improvisation and Composition Seminars by American Choreographer Heywood McGriff (University of Texas in Austin).
Ms. Ugaz has a vast experience in teaching beginners, intermediate, advanced ballet, pointe training and classical ballet repertoire. Her knowledge and respect for the Cuban ballet methodology and her passion for the art have contributed to her constant search for perfection not only technically, but most of all artistically by adhering to the teachings of Maestro Fernando Alonso, Father of the Cuban Ballet.
Suet Fernandez Caballero
Suet Fernandez studied and graduated with honors as a Ballet Teacher and Character Dances from the “Instituto Superior de Artes” in Cuba with a degree of Arts in Dance.
Ms. Fernandez participated in methodology workshops on Teaching Ballet to the advanced and Professional levels. To update her knowledge, she regularly attends annual conferences and courses at the International Schools Ballet Meetings (Encuentros) taught by the renowned Cuban Methodologists Maestro Fernando Alonso and Maestra Ramona de Saa.
Ms. Fernandez’s work experience in the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels at the renowned Academia de las Artes Vicentina de la Torre, include being a teacher for ballet, pointe, repertoire, and character dances.
She has extensive experience as a teacher in classical dance, character dance, pointe, and repertoire classes. She has also imparted ballet classes during international competitions held in La Havana, Cuba. She has taught in the beginner, intermediate, advanced levels at the Instituto Superior de Artes (ISA).
Ms. Fernandez Caballero has produced excellent students who have been awarded gold, silver and bronze medals at the intermediate, advanced, pre-professional, and professional levels.
